IOSH Working Safely
IOSH Working Safely covers the essentials of health and safety in the workplace. It is aimed at all workers in all types of organisation. Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, students are awarded a Working Safely certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest health and safety membership organisation.
Please note: As of May 2017 Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) will no longer accept IOSH Working Safely certificates achieved via the online course and e-learning assessment as a route to obtaining the green Labourer card. Live Online learning now available for in-company training.

Live Online Learning
Get all the benefits of structured classroom learning but with the convenience of the digital world, studying where you like.
Students join remotely using a PC, laptop or tablet and download the relevant software in advance to enable access to the tutor run class. Throughout the course, students can see and interact with the tutor and with each other.
Course overview
The course is divided into four modules:
- Introducing working safely
- Defining hazard and risk
- Identifying common hazards
- Improving safety performance.
Assessment depends on how you choose to study.
If you study in the classroom the multiple-choice examination and hazard spotting exercise are completed at the end of the course.
If you study online, the course and assessment must be completed within five months of registration.
Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Identify why it is important to work safely
- Identify everyone’s responsibilities in relation to health, safety and well-being in the workplace
- Define key terms in health and safety
- Identify workplace hazards and risks, their impact and how to control them
- Identify ways in which health, safety and wellbeing are managed and improved within the workplace.

In your workplace
We can visit your workplace and deliver this one-day course on a date of your choice. This is an effective way of training a group of people as it saves on travel costs and allows students to keep in touch with work.
