Shield, Sword and Globe of Honour

These awards celebrate the best of the best, giving great companies the recognition that they deserve.

Each year, those that have achieved a five-star result in one of the following audits are invited to apply:

• Five Star Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Audit
• Five Star Environmental Sustainability Audit
• Five Star Wellbeing Audit
• Five Star Wellbeing Supplementary Audit.

With a direct link to the Five Star Audit report, these awards require a detailed and objective evaluation of occupational health, safety, environmental management and wellbeing systems and associated arrangements.

As a Being Well Together Supporter you gain free access to the new Shield of Honour award, which has been combined with the existing British Safety Council Sword and Globe of Honour Awards.

British Safety Council has been running the prestigious Sword and Globe Honour Awards for many years, with the Sword of Honour running consecutive for over 40 years and recognising health and safety management excellence. For over ten years the Globe of Honour award has recognised excellence in environmental management.

Newly introduced, the Being Well Together Shield of Honour award is aimed specifically at Supporters and recognises excellence in health and wellbeing. To be eligible for the Shield of Honour, applicants must have achieved a five star audit in the Five Star Wellbeing audit.

Getting the five star audit is just the start though, applicants need to demonstrate to an independent adjudication panel that they had a proven track record and culture of best practice for excellence in health and wellbeing, that runs throughout the business, from the shop floor to the boardroom.

Successful applicants demonstrate that they are among the 'best of the best' through the submission of a written application. The awards give winners the opportunity to:

• Promote their achievement with the winners' trophy, logo, certificate and press coverage
• Add this achievement to tenders and corporate literature
• Motivate their workforce to strive for higher standards.

These awards recognise and celebrate health, safety, environmental management and wellbeing excellence, bringing together hundreds of like-minded international leaders across sectors.
